Founded in 1867 by the Newark Conference of the United Methodist Church, Centenary has evolved from a coeducational preparatory school into a modern, independent, four-year baccalaureate and master-level institution of higher education. Centenary University is committed to a quality liberal arts and career studies education with a substantial international dimension to engage students in learning and prepare them to satisfying careers, successful lives, community service and life-long intellectual pursuits. As the primary educational and cultural resource for northwest New Jersey, Centenary offers a range of undergraduate, graduate and professional programs, as well as non-degree courses for professional and personal development. Centenary University is home to the 2014 & 2011 International Horse Show Association (IHSA) National Champions and 2011 USEF/Cacchione Cup Winner. The College is a member of NCAA Division III, ECAC, CSAC and has 13 intercollegiate teams.
