Founded in 1870, Stevens Institute of Technology is the first American college to devote itself exclusively to engineering education based on scientific principles. A premier, coeducational university, Stevens is dedicated to developing and deploying transformative solutions to some of the most critical and complex challenges in government, industry, science, and education through its pioneering curriculum and its focus on applied research and entrepreneurship. The University is located on a scenic, 55-acre-park-like campus in Hoboken, New Jersey, just across the Hudson River from midtown Manhattan and is named for a distinguished family who perpetuated a tradition in American engineering, dating back to the early days of the Industrial Revolution. Research activities are vital to the University’s educational mission; thus, Stevens attracts world-renowned faculty to complement its exceptional facilities. Stevens offers baccalaureate, master’s and doctoral degrees in engineering, science, computer science, management, and liberal arts. The University has a total enrollment of 2,369 undergraduate and 3,700 graduate students. Graduate students pursue study on the Hoboken campus, through a fully accredited and award-winning WebCampus, at a variety of corporate sites, at Stevens’ Washington D.C. location, and abroad.
